African Kingdoms Gold

KEEP AFRICA’S GOLD
IN AFRICA.

A strategic programme helping African governments retain more of the physical and financial value of their gold through secure custody, digitisation and global market access.

African Kingdoms Gold helps African governments and institutions retain more of the physical and financial value created by Africa’s gold.

By bringing together responsible sourcing, refining, secure vaulting, independent verification, digital ownership and global market access, gold can increasingly remain securely in Africa while its financial value connects to investors around the world.

Africa already has the gold. The opportunity is to retain more of the value created around it.

Up to 3× more value could be retained in Africa than today.Keep more custody, infrastructure, insurance and financial value closer to the countries that produce the gold.

A Different Model for African Gold

The traditional gold model often exports more than the physical commodity. Once gold leaves Africa, much of the downstream value associated with refining, custody, insurance, financing, trading and investment products can also be created outside the continent.

African Kingdoms Gold creates another option. Gold can be responsibly sourced, verified, refined and placed into secure institutional custody in Africa. Its ownership can then be represented digitally and connected to international investors and financial markets without requiring the underlying physical asset to continually move offshore.

The gold stays. The value travels.

This allows countries to participate in global gold markets while progressively retaining more custody, financial infrastructure, insurance income and economic value within Africa.

Two Routes to the Global Market

Different investors have different risk requirements. African Kingdoms Gold therefore supports a transition rather than forcing a single custody model.

International Vaulted Gold

Gold can continue to be held in established international vaulting centres for investors whose mandates favour familiar international custody structures. This provides an immediately recognised route into global markets.

African Vaulted Gold

The same investment model can increasingly be supported by gold held in secure, insured and independently audited African vaults. This retains more of the physical gold and associated economic activity within Africa while still allowing international investors to participate.

AFRICAN GOLD → International Vault OR African Vault → Digital Ownership → Global Market

Investor chooses the custody model. The market prices the risk.

As African vaulting establishes a proven record of security, insurance, audit and governance, the objective is for the market to progressively reduce any custody-risk differential. Trust is earned through performance, not imposed on investors.

Build the trust. Let the market decide.

Digitalising African Gold

Verified physical gold can be represented digitally, allowing ownership to be transferred, divided and accessed efficiently while the underlying asset remains securely held in custody.

African Kingdoms Gold can work with leading international digital-gold and tokenisation infrastructure, drawing on established models such as PAX Gold, Tether Gold and Kinesis Gold alongside institutional digital-ownership structures where these provide the best regulatory and market fit.

This is broader than creating another cryptocurrency. The objective is a credible digital representation of real, identifiable and independently verified gold, supported by appropriate custody, settlement and investor protections.

This allows the financial value of gold to move internationally without requiring the underlying physical asset to move with every transaction.

Digitisation can also make gold fractional. Physical gold underneath. Digital access above it.

Protecting African Gold

For African custody to succeed internationally, investors must trust that the physical asset is protected.

African Kingdoms Gold can support the development of an institutional insurance framework around participating African vaults. Where practical, primary insurance can be retained within Africa, allowing more of the premium income and financial value associated with protecting African gold to remain on the continent.

Vault it in Africa. Insure it in Africa. Reinsure globally where required.

International reinsurance can provide additional capacity and confidence where required. As the African vault network develops, participating providers may also establish a mutual risk pool as an additional shared layer of protection.

African insurance. International reinsurance. Optional mutual risk pool.

Building Trusted African Vault Infrastructure

A key enabler of this model is the growth of professional vaulting infrastructure across Africa.

African Kingdoms Gold is aligned with organisations planning significant expansion of secure gold-vault capacity across the continent. This creates an opportunity to establish a network of professionally managed, insured and independently audited African custody facilities capable of meeting the expectations of governments, institutions and international investors.

As this infrastructure develops, African countries gain a genuine choice. Gold no longer has to leave the continent simply because trusted custody infrastructure exists somewhere else.

Why It Matters

Keeping more of the gold value chain within Africa can strengthen national financial infrastructure, improve transparency around gold flows, create new institutional assets, retain custody and insurance revenues, support local banking and capital markets and create new ways for international capital to invest into African-backed assets.

The opportunity is not simply to export and sell more gold. It is to retain more of the value created by gold.

Why African Kingdoms Gold

African Kingdoms Gold combines AURVANTIS Group’s African relationships with almost four decades of experience across commodities, institutional banking and financial markets.

The CEO of AURVANTIS Group brings a 60+ year connection with Africa. Our commodities-market experience began in the London market in 1986 and has developed across banking, payments, financial infrastructure, technology and digital assets.

We also bring experience in large and complex transformation programmes, including team experience supporting national infrastructure programmes worth more than US$2 billion for the Australian Government and work involving major global financial institutions including JPMorgan.

Combined with our alignment with organisations developing African gold-vault infrastructure, this gives us experience across both sides of the opportunity: securing the physical gold and building the financial infrastructure that unlocks its value.

The Programme Architect

The transformation cannot be delivered by a vault provider, tokenisation company or bank acting independently. It requires an integrated programme.

AURVANTIS can act as the strategic advisor, programme architect and programme manager, helping governments design the model and bring together the specialist organisations required to deliver it.

That includes the relationship between government policy, gold producers, refining, custody, security, insurance, regulation, banking, settlement, digital ownership, technology and international investor access.

Our role is to establish the strategy and operating model, select and coordinate the appropriate partners, manage the programme and ensure that each component works as part of a credible national gold ecosystem.

AURVANTIS sits above the individual providers — designing the strategy, architecture and operating model, selecting the specialist partners and managing the programme from concept through implementation.
